Whats a good way to show part of someone's hair shaved off in a short film using makeup?

I am shooting a film for a filming class and I need away to show someones hair that got shaved off. When the guy notices that he has a piece of hair sticking up out of his head, he accidently shaves it off along with a patch of hair on his head. Whats a good way with makeup to show that?Whats a good way to show part of someone's hair shaved off in a short film using makeup?
Makeup isn't really the answer - you would get the best, simplest and cheapest results by getting your actor to allow you to do it for real - or get a 'stunt' head for a close up.

If you really want to use effects then you would need a makeup artist to apply a bald cap and wig - and the wig would not be cheap.

Sorry!Whats a good way to show part of someone's hair shaved off in a short film using makeup?
Is the actor already bald? If so, using fake hair would be great. Since it's a short, I assume you're on a tight budget. You can pick up crepe wool hair pretty cheap. You should get about 3 different shades and really gently blend them together (dont overblend!) for a natural look. Then you just put down spirit gum where you want it, tap it with a finger, then press the tips of the hair onto it (I use the flat side of closed scissors) Now you've got a head full of cheap hair you can slice off. But if your actor has a full head of hair and you just want to show a bald patch.. You may have to do as stated above by the other person, which is bald cap first, and then hair.

If you need to shave it on camera, I wouldn't reccommend the wig. You might catch some of the silk netting and tear it, and it would be pretty obvious.
